Dr. Andrew Francis

Instructor of Music

Dr. Andrew Francis is an award-winning composer and percussionist. His music has been performed at festivals, conferences, and universities across United States and abroad, including Internacional de Clarinet Pradesthe (Spain), The Society of Composers, Inc. National and Regional Conferences, the American Choral Directors Association-Southwest Regional Conference, the College Band Directors National Association-Southern Regional Conference, the College Music Society Pacific Northwest Regional Conference, VOX Novus concert series (New York), and many others.

Dr. Francis has enjoyed performances of his music from many national recognized ensembles, including the West Point Woodwind Quintet, Alarm Will Sound, and the Dali String Quartet.

He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in composition and a Master of Music degree in music theory pedagogy from Michigan State University, a Master of Music degree in composition from Central Michigan University, and two Bachelor of Music degrees cum laude in percussion performance and composition from Ohio University. His composition teachers include Jere Hutcheson, Ricardo Lorenz, David Gillingham, and Mark Phillips.
