A native of Clevelad, OH, Jordan Reed maintains a busy schedule as a performer, educator, and composer. As a concert saxophonist, he has been a soloist with The Ohio State Symphony Orchestra, the Marietta College Wind Ensemble, the Ohio University Wind Symphony, and the Ohio University Symphony Orchestra. He has performed at national and regional conferences of the North American Saxophone Alliance, and has been featured chamber musician at the Society for Composers Inc. National Conference, and with the Black Swamp Saxophone Quartet.
Mr. Reed is currently a member of the saxophone project, Alea Duo, a group that focuses on newly composed works with elements of spontaneity and improvisation, and The Ohio State University Scarlet Saxophone Quartet. As a jazz artist, he regularly performs, writes, and records with the Columbus-based new jazz sextet, Radarhill, and has performed with the Ohio Intercollegiate Jazz Ensemble, and The Athens Jazztet. He is a member of The International Percy Grainger Society, Pi Kappa Lambda, and an alumnus of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
Mr. Reed is currently a Doctoral Teaching Associate at The Ohio State University and holds a Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees in saxophone performance from Ohio University.
